December 11th Animal Kingdom
- Light 3rd Candle of Advent (optional that you can light your own if you have an advent ring! I will have mine next to me during the zoom that collects objects from the kingdoms)
- I will read Steiner’s Calendar of the Soul verse for the week two times
- Music or poetry or a story (please contact me if you would like to share a song or poem or story related to the animal kingdom. I’m happy to share something if nobody volunteers but want to give everyone a chance to share something! Many of you have beautiful things to share! It does not have to be your own creation, but it can be! Feel free to sing, play an instrument, read a favorite poem, or tell a personal story or read written short story from a book. This enriches our time together and helps our reflection on this kingdom!

Quick craft as we chat! We are making an ornament. All you need is a wood slice or tag and a stamp with a hole in it (both found in cheap dollar section of most craft stores) and string! You may also choose to paint or draw your animal! You can use a polished or a rustic wood slice. Any animal stamp that you love will do! Don’t forget an ink pad! Bead optional. If you have a different ornament craft, you would like to make, please feel free!!! No need to limit to this kind. I did this one for the plant kingdom also with plant stamps. Get creative!
- Animal kingdom object meditation. Make sure you have at least one different item from the animal kingdom. It can be an animal figurine, a picture of a certain animal, a drawing etc. We are going to sit in silence for just a couple minutes with that object and then share what came to us as we sat in meditation. Feel free to contemplate what the animal kingdom has that the plant and mineral kingdoms were lacking.
- Open discussion of the animal kingdom and how it relates to us as human beings. I may have a handout to share.
- Closing verse from the Calendar of the Soul
- Blow out the candle and end session! Spend the coming week in reflection of this kingdom and feel free to do so with your children ✨
